Move permits in Al Rashidiya
Independent villas here rarely need a permit — the property is yours and the street is public. The newer managed apartment buildings and gated townhouse rows do want a move permit and will ask for the tenancy contract and the mover's trade licence a couple of days ahead. Al Rashidiya has been a residential district since long before most of the city it now sits inside. That history shows in the street layout, and for anyone moving house it shows in the best possible way: the roads are wide, the plots are generous, and almost every villa has a driveway the truck can pull onto.
It is worth saying plainly, because access is the largest invisible cost in a Dubai move. A crew carrying sixty cartons forty metres from a shared parking bay takes noticeably longer than the same crew working four metres from a tailgate, and that difference is real money.
What we move here
Mostly whole villas. The stock here is older and larger — ground plus one, high boundary walls, gardens, a majlis, and a store room that has been quietly filling up for a decade. Villa moves in Al Rashidiya are almost always bigger than the bedroom count suggests, and the extra volume is outside the house rather than in it.

The airport, and the one timing note
Being next to Dubai International is irrelevant to a move, with one exception: the roads around Airport Road and Casablanca Road are busy at shift-change and at the peaks. If your move is crossing the city rather than staying local, we will start early for that reason.

Almost certainly, and often on the driveway itself rather than the street. This is the part of Dubai where access costs the least, and it is worth knowing because a long carry is one of the largest silent additions to a moving bill elsewhere in the city.

Access is the part people underestimate: a ground-floor villa with the truck on the driveway is a different job from a fourth-floor walk-up in International City with a 60-metre carry. Four things, in roughly this order of impact. Volume — how much there is to carry, which is what decides crew size and how many truck runs it takes. Access at both ends — lift or stairs, how far the truck can park from the door, and whether a service lift has to be booked. Services — packing, dismantling, reassembly and unpacking each add labour and time. And timing — a move that has to happen tomorrow, or on a Friday evening, costs more than one booked with a week of notice.
