Low-rise family flats
Movers in Al Karama, Dubai
Karama is compact, low-rise and long-settled. Most buildings are ground plus four to six with a small lift or none at all, and a lot of the flats have been lived in for a decade or more — which reliably means more to move than the floor plan suggests.
Same-day and next-day slots are usually available. Mornings are much easier than evenings.

Move permits in Al Karama
Almost all landlord-managed and informal — a word with the watchman covers it. Parking is the constraint here rather than permission, and it is worth telling us which side of the building you are on so the crew stops in the right place first time.
Karama is small, dense and has been home to the same families for a long time. That last part is what shapes a move here more than the buildings do.
Long tenancies, large volumes
A two-bedroom flat occupied for twelve years is not a two-bedroom volume. It is closer to a three-bedroom one, and none of the difference is visible when you walk in — it is on top of the wardrobes, at the back of the cupboards, and in the store.
Karama has more long tenancies than almost anywhere in Dubai, which is why our quotes here surprise people occasionally. It is not the floor area being priced; it is the contents.
Parking is the constraint
Not permits, not lifts. Space at the kerb. It is tight through the day and worse after work when residents are back, so a morning slot is worth a great deal here.
The buildings do sit close to the road, so once the truck has somewhere to stop the carry itself is short. Telling us which side your entrance is on saves the crew circling the block.
Small lifts, or none
The familiar old-Dubai pattern. Cartons ride, furniture walks, and the crew is sized for the stairs. apartment moving covers how that is planned.
Nearby
Bur Dubai shares a border and much of the same stock, Oud Metha is a short run, and families moving out of Karama for space most often go east to Al Qusais or west to Al Barsha.

Moving in Al Karama — common questions
Almost always because of how long it has been lived in. Karama has some of the longest tenancies in Dubai, and a decade in a two-bedroom flat produces a volume closer to a three-bedroom one — cupboard tops, the back of wardrobes, the store. It is not the floor area we are pricing, it is what is in it.
That is the question here. Parking is tight all day and worse in the evening once residents are home, so mornings are far easier. Tell us which side of the building your entrance is on and the crew will stop in the right place rather than circling.
Some have a small passenger lift, some have none. Either way, wardrobes, sofas and mattresses go down the stairs — the lift only ever handles cartons. We size the crew on the staircase.

Studio and small one-bedroom moves within Dubai generally start around AED 500, and the figure climbs with the volume of furniture, the number of rooms, whether packing is included, and how the two buildings are accessed. Access is the part people underestimate: a ground-floor villa with the truck on the driveway is a different job from a fourth-floor walk-up in International City with a 60-metre carry. We would rather look at your rooms than guess — send photos on WhatsApp and you will get a real number rather than a range.
Four things, in roughly this order of impact. Volume — how much there is to carry, which is what decides crew size and how many truck runs it takes. Access at both ends — lift or stairs, how far the truck can park from the door, and whether a service lift has to be booked. Services — packing, dismantling, reassembly and unpacking each add labour and time. And timing — a move that has to happen tomorrow, or on a Friday evening, costs more than one booked with a week of notice.
Materials are included in the quote — cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, tape and paper. You do not need to buy anything or collect boxes from a supermarket. If you would rather pack your own clothes and books to keep the cost down and leave us the kitchen, glass and electronics, that is a normal way to split it and we will price it that way.
