How to Choose Movers in Dubai

Easy Fit Movers and Packer in Dubai

Every moving company in Dubai says it is professional, reliable and affordable. A good number say they are the best, several say they are award-winning, and quite a few display a five-star rating you have no way to verify.

None of that helps you choose. Here is what actually does.

Ignore these entirely

Not because they are always false, but because they carry no information — anybody can print them, and there is no way to check.

  • “Best movers in Dubai” and every variant of it
  • “Award-winning” with no named award
  • “5-star rated” with no link to where the reviews are
  • “25 years of experience” from a company whose trade licence is four years old
  • Client counters — particularly where a site shows three different numbers on three different pages
  • “Fully insured” said out loud, with nothing on paper

The last one matters most, and it comes back below.

The five questions that actually tell you something

1. “Will you survey before you quote?”

For anything larger than a one-bedroom flat, the answer should be yes. A price given without seeing the property is an estimate wearing a quote’s clothing, and the correction happens on moving day when you have no leverage.

2. “What is not included?”

A good answer is specific and slightly uncomfortable: long carries, stair work, out-of-hours slots, storage, disposal. A company that says “nothing, it is all included” either has not thought about your job or is planning to revisit it later.

3. “Who arranges the building permit and the lift?”

In most Dubai towers you cannot move without a permit and a booked service lift, and in places like Downtown Dubai and Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) a crew genuinely gets turned away at the barrier without them. A mover who does not raise this has not moved in your building.

4. “Can I see your trade licence and your insurance certificate?”

Both are documents. Both can be sent by WhatsApp in thirty seconds by a company that has them. Ask every company you are comparing, and notice which ones send a document and which ones send reassurance.

5. “What happens if something is damaged?”

You want a process, not a promise. Who do I tell, when, and what happens next. “Nothing ever gets damaged” is not an answer to that question.

Read the reviews properly

Star ratings are close to useless on their own. What is worth reading is the substance of the negative reviews, because moving complaints cluster into a small number of patterns:

  • “The price changed on the day” — they quote without surveying. This is by far the most common.
  • “They arrived late / a person short” — over-booking.
  • “Nothing was reassembled” — they left before finishing, usually because the job was under-quoted.
  • “Fittings went missing” — no discipline about bagging hardware to its own piece.

Also look at who is writing the five-star reviews. A profile with one review and no history is worth much less than a Local Guide with fifty.

Get comparable quotes

Three quotes are only useful if they describe the same job. Give every company the identical brief:

  • Both addresses, with the floor and the lift situation at each
  • The room list, including the store, the balcony and the garden
  • Whether you want packing, and how much of it
  • Your date, and whether it can move

Then compare what is included, not just the total. A cheaper quote that excludes packing materials, reassembly and the stair carry is not cheaper.

Two practical warnings

A quote far below the others is not a bargain. It is a number that has to grow to become profitable, and it grows once your possessions are on a truck.

Never pay the full amount in advance. A deposit is normal. Full payment before the work is not.
